I'm no cosmologist, but it seems to me they're taking what they currently
theorize to be how things work on earth - which is the filter applied to
their view of how things work everywhere else in the cosmos - and trace
that back in time. So if the theory of evolution says "natural selection of
random events" and quantum physics says "everything is just a probability of
random states until the probabilities collapse into reality" and an overall
view that time is a dimension similar to a dimension of space - which means
that we can mark it off on a grid as discreet units . . . ya hafta wonder if
the reason we haven't figured it out yet is because the scientific views of
"randomness", "time" and "natural selection" are "missing something".
It's as if this scientific view is in an airplane and they're trying to
figure out how this particular plane came about; and all the other planes
in the sky came about; along with flight schedules, destinations, air pockets
wind shears, etc.. The approach they're taking though is to dismantle the plane
and figure out how fight "emerged" from the parts. There's also a mystical view
of flight which is closer to ballooning. And my personal favorite of jumping off
a bridge (please use a bungee cord). None of these approaches tells the whole story.
Flight - free movement through the vertical dimension of space - is not an invention
or a capacity that emerged in the evolution of Life or idea that a human or some other
bird-brain concocted.
